January 27, 2011 by | Comments

Tennessee’s largest solar energy power project has been unveiled on January 27 in Jackson, TN.

The project consists of 4,914 Sharp solar modules manufactured by Sharp’s Tennessee  manufacturing unit.

The 1 megawatt (MW) system was designed and built by Knoxville based Efficient Energy of Tennessee (EETN).

The project includes a 1 megawatt (MW) solar power system, which will be interconnected directly to the Jackson Energy Authority (JEA) power grid and purchased by the TVA. The energy produced from this solar array is enough to power more than 250 homes. Also included is a 47 kilowatt (kW) installation, which will power a portion of the operations at the Business Center, located at 96 American Drive in the Madison Industrial Park.
